Damien Duff has accused his Shelbourne players of lacking the motivation and dedication of runaway league leaders Shamrock Rovers and strongly questioned if his squad have the 24/7 desire that is necessary to be consistently successful professional footballers.
Duff pulled no punches in his assessment of Friday night’s 1-0 defeat to Derry City that leaves the Reds fifteen points off the pace, with the losing manager admitting that he was worried after an ‘awful’ training session on Thursday that fuelled fears he has about the mentality of the dressing room.
