Damien Duff says he was gutted to see Drogheda United expelled from European football after the Louth club’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) was rejected on Monday.
While the Shelbourne boss will learn his side’s opponents for next month’s Champions League first-round qualifier when the draw takes place later today, Drogheda’s place in the Conference League qualifiers has been taken away from them after becoming the first club to be prevented from playing in Europe due to Uefa’s multi-club ownership rules.
