It’s a small step but Kildare football boss Brian Flanagan hopes that edging out Offaly in a pressurised scenario might be just what the Lilies ordered as they bid to turn around their miserable record in Croke Park.
The Faithful had twice inflicted defeat on them already this year – in round six of the League before following up again to deny them Division 3 silverware – but Kildare hung on at the death last Saturday in St Conleth’s Park despite leading handsomely by seven points towards the end of the third quarter.
