Jor Dropping
Brazilian giants Flamengo will be hoping Jorginho haunts his old side, Chelsea, when the two meet at the Club World Cup tonight.
The 33-year-old Italy international returned to the country of his birth following his release from Arsenal.
His move to Flamengo ended a 15-year stint in European football; however, the midfielder is already reuniting with a former team.
Jorginho’s new teammate, Agustin Rossi, recently took part in a round-table previewing the clash, attended by talkSPORT.com.
He said: “We know the game will be challenging. But we have weapons as well. We can face them. I believe we’ll have a great game.
“Everybody wants to win, of course. We know it will be challenging, and we’ll be as prepared as possible so that we… The game is something we can endure, and it can be a spectacle as well.”
On Jorginho’s impact, Rossi added: “Certainly, this is a very good development. We know that he is a world-class player.
“He’s well-recognised in the world. He’s with Flamengo. So he’s part of the squad. To fight with us and to have him in our team, this is going to be, of course, very important.
“His experience will help us against these great rivals, such as Chelsea, in the group stage.”
