Galway manager Pádraic Joyce said his players were “fighting for our lives” after coming through an absorbing match in the final round-robin game in Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday night.
In a riveting football championship, this was one of the most enthralling matches to date, with Galway coming from eight points down at half-time, having scored just 0-1 from two first-half penalties. They won at the death with a free from Shane Walsh.
