The Kildare hurling fairytale had to come to an end at some stage and this Dublin were in no mood for any drama as they ruthlessly laid waste to the home side at a rain-sodden St Conleth’s Park.
Brian Dowling’s men have been the story of the hurling season so far, but this was a bridge too far. The Dubs blew the cobwebs off following a three-week break. Much bigger tests lie around the corner.
